The founder and CEO of nanotechnological company XTPL S.A. has won Poland’s most prestigious entrepreneur award. Next year he will go on to vie for the title of the world’s best entrepreneur in Monte Carlo at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
“At XTPL we strongly believe that in our globalized world it is possible to create a technology Made in Poland that will affect people all over the globe. What is more, this technology – when well planned, developed and implemented ‒ has no financial limits. This is what drives us to make new breakthroughs, to push our limits”, said Filip Granek, PhD, CEO of XTPL, while accepting the award of the 16th edition of the EY Entrepreneur of Year from Polish Minister of Enterprise and Technology Jadwiga Emilewicz.
The head of XTPL, which develops technological solutions for specific industrial applications of ultraprecise nanomaterial printing, and co-creator of the company’s success, stressed that it would not have been possible to create and develop XTPL without the company’s team and investors. He emphasized that XTPL is now gearing to take another bold but well-considered step: it will open a business development department in the United States and ‒ with the aid of Silicon Valley veterans ‒ explore the sector of smart glass and other business areas.
“XTPL is an unorthodox mixture of talent, experience and passion. My team, investors, our advisory board, and my invaluable wife, support me every day in my nano-steps taking us beyond the limits of the technologies we know”, said Filip Granek.
The jury panel, which comprised Polish business leaders including previous EY Entrepreneur of the Year winners, came up with a shortlist of 14 leading entrepreneurs from 11 Polish companies who took part in the Polish final. The selected businessmen represent three fields: Manufacturing and Services, New Technologies/Innovation and New Business. The jury awarded Filip Granek in the latter category too.
“He is a prime example of an entrepreneur who is changing our environment, adding value to Poland’s economic growth, and on top of that, one with the passion and courage to make dreams a reality”, said EY Managing Partner in Poland Jacek Kędzior about the CEO of XTPL.
“I encourage entrepreneurs to keep trying and to dive into the deep. The risk is worth taking. The worst case scenario is that you don’t succeed. But at least you can say you have played for the highest stakes. This is how high we aim at XTPL”, adds Filip Granek, who will go on to represent Poland at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards, where he will compete with leading entrepreneurs from 60 other countries. The World Entrepreneur Of The Year Gala will be held in June 2019 in Monte Carlo.
